In an effort to address favorable attitudes toward underage drinking and youth substance use in our communities, the MVPHC has worked with prevention staff in 7 cities/towns and a marketing consultant to create a social marketing campaign targeting parents/guardians of middle-school aged youth in our region. After a comprehensive assessment of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors among parents/guardians in our region, we created a 3-pronged campaign to encourage parents/guardians to take action when it comes to talking to their children about alcohol and other drugs. We call this campaign “Prepare yourself. Prepare you kid. Pass it on.”
Follow the links below to find more on how to prepare yourself for the conversation, prepare your kid with information, and pass it on to other parents and adults in your community.
Once you’ve taken a look around, we would love your feedback on the campaign and as we prepare to release new images & messages! Please click here to complete our two minute survey! Thank you!
